Lucas 8

Utley - "your faith has made you well" Not her touch, but acting on her faith in Him was the key. Faith itself is not the issue, but the object of faith (i.e., Jesus). There was nothing magical here, nor was it the power of positive thinking, but the power of Jesus. This is another use of the Greek sōzō in both its OT and NT senses. It is a perfect active indicative, which implied she was healed and remained healed of the physical problem and her spiritual problem. "go in peace" This is a present middle (deponent) imperative. She was not only physically healed, but spiritually healed. Jim Bomkamp - Filled with compassion and love for this woman Jesus tells her that her faith has made her well and that she may now go in peace. More than just allowing this woman to go in peace Jesus comforts and assures her by calling her His ‘daughter.’ She now is in the family of God. William Lane on peace - The peace with which she departed signified more than release from agitation over a wretched existence or from fear of recrimination for having touched Jesus. It was the profound experience of well-being which is related to salvation from God. When Jesus declares, “Be whole from your affliction,” he confirms that her healing was permanent and affirms his active participation with the Father’s will to honor the woman’s faith. (NICNT-Mk) Brian Bill - Mark 5:34 tells us that she wasn’t just healed but was also saved: “And He said to her, ‘Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace, and be healed of your disease.’” I love that He calls her, “daughter.” He does so because she has just entered the family of God through faith. She goes from living with shame to having a name as a daughter of the King! For twelve terrible years she had been a nobody and now she is a somebody! It was her “faith” that made her well, not something inherent in his clothing. (Sermon) Al Mohler - In front of the crowd the woman testifies at the feet of Jesus why she touched him and how she was immediately healed. Jesus’ statement explains what has taken place and identifies faith as the means by which his saving power is received (v. 48; cf. 7:50). (See NIV, The Grace and Truth Study Bible)
