Miquéias 2

Vernon McGee quips there "are more of the nation of Israel in New York City than there are in the whole land of Israel… so God has not yet assembled all of them according to this prophecy." Clearly this prophecy is yet future and most likely will be fulfilled at the Second Coming of Christ. Arnold Fruchtenbaum associates Micah 2:12-13 with the Second Coming of Christ While the general conception is that when the Messiah initially returns, He will return to the Mount of Olives, the Bible actually puts the Second Coming elsewhere. Four passages definitely place the Second Coming at the city of see map) or Petra (Ed: Also called Sela =ISBE note on Sela says "There can be no doubt that Josephus intended the city in Wady Musa. Its Old Testament name was Bozrah - Amos 1:12, etc.) and a fifth may refer to this event… The Remnant of Israel gathered in Bozrah and the Second Coming are linked together in the fourth passage (cf Isa 63:1-6 - See notes on Isaiah 63:1-6). In Micah 2:12, the Remnant of Israel will be gathered in Bozrah where they will be besieged by the forces of the Antichrist. In Micah 2:13, they are finally able to break the siege because Jehovah the King is leading them. The breaker, the king, and Jehovah are all the same Person in this verse. At the Second Coming, the Messiah will enter into battle with the forces of the Antichrist that have gathered at this city. (The Messianic Bible Study Collection) Hindson writes "A remnant to be restored. Micah 2:12-13. Into the dark picture of judgment a promise of restoration is given. It is assured in verse Mic 2:12 and visualized in verse Mic 2:13. I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel. This restoration will be complete, for it will involve Jacob (the southern two tribes) and Israel (the northern ten tribes). Thus, the restoration envisioned is greater than that realized following the Babylon captivity when only the southern tribes were restored to their land. The restoration envisioned is that of the Millennium, when all of the nation will be restored and will experience the regeneration spoken of by Jeremiah (Jer 31:31-34+). The ten tribes are lost only to man. God knows their whereabouts, and in His time will restore them completely. The restoration will be luxurious, as is indicated by the reference to the sheep of Bozrah. Bozrah was an area that had very rich pasture, and the sheep which grazed upon it must have been exemplary. God will ultimately restore His nation, now wracked by its sin; and great joy will be the lot of the restored and redeemed people. The breaker is come up before them. The breaker of verse Mic 2:13 is a reference to Israel’s Messiah (Jesus, our Lord) who will break down every obstacle between the people and their God. He will restore them, forgive them of their sins, and implant within them a new heart. He will lead them to glorious restoration, and He will rule over them. No one will be able to hinder His messianic millennial work, for He is the LORD (Jehovah)! To date, this promise of restoration has not been realized; but there is coming a day when it will. What a glorious future lies ahead of Israel! (King James Bible Commentary) Tony
