Lucas 21

Morgan - In college I discovered the habit of rising early to hear His voice. My school required students to rise at 6:15, and, after showering and dressing, to devote a half hour to personal devotions before breakfast. I resisted at first, but it gradually became an ingrained habit. British army chaplain Bishop Taylor Smith testified, "As soon as I awake each morning, I rise from bed at once. I dress promptly. I wash myself, shave, and comb my hair. Then fully attired, wide-awake and properly groomed, I go quietly to my study. There, before God Almighty and Christ my King, I humbly present myself as a loyal subject to my Sovereign, ready and eager to be of service to Him for the day." Early in the morning Abraham went to the place where he had stood before the Lord. Early in the morning Jacob took the stone that was near his head and set it up as a marker. He poured oil on top of it and named the place Bethel. Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, He got up, went out, and made His way to a deserted place. And He was praying there. Very early in the morning, on the first day of the week, they went to the tomb at sunrise. Early in the morning my song shall rise to Thee —Reginald Heber (My All in All)
