Lucas 3
Adam Clarke · Citado em PreceptAustin
Lucas 3
Clarke comments that "It has been well observed, that there is an allusion here to a woodman, who, having marked a tree for excision, lays his axe at its root, and strips off his outer garment, that he may wield his blows more powerfully, and that his work may be quickly performed.” POSB - There are many trees: some lofty (the proud), some stately (leaders), some diseased, some bearing good fruit, some bearing bad fruit, and some bearing no fruit at all. All trees that do not bear good fruit will be cut down and cast into the fire. See Heb 6:8, Ro 3:21-23, 1 Pe 4:17-18, Rev. 21:8. (See Preacher's Outline & Sermon Bible-KJV-Luke)
